Class Description: Learn how to invisibly weave in ends that won’t pull out or distort your fabric, to make repairs, and add color details with a technique called Duplicate Stitch.

Material Needed:

2 Swatches See Homework below for details

Contrasting color yarn in the same weight as your swatches

Handi-tool or crochet hook in size

What skills you should have: Experienced Beginner to Advanced Knitter

What skills you will learn: How to create the Duplicate stitch on both the knit side and the purl side. You will then learn how to use this technique to repair small holes, fasten dropped stitches, and add color work that resembles fair isle.

Homework:

  • Knit two swatches in stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side!) Do Not add edging stitches
  • Both swatches should be the same size, approx 30 to 40 stitches wide and 4” to 6” high.
  • You must use a circular or double pointed needle to be able to work the single row stripe described below.
  • Use smooth, plied, worsted weight yarn in a solid, light color.
  • About 1.5” in from the cast on and using a high contrast yarn work a single 1
