About Us

Refuge; a noun defined as a sanctuary, shelter, retreat.
At Yarn Refuge, we like to provide that very place where lovers of fiber and needle arts can come together in a welcoming environment to create new friends, experience beautiful yarns, and share ideas.
It is truly a unique and exciting place to be!
Meet the Owner
The creator of this amazing place is Pam Marshall.
Pam started to knit when she was in her 30’s and raising 3 sons. She loves making beautiful handmade garments such as skirts, dresses, and sweaters.
For many years she had a desire to create a space where people would come together as a community and build on their skills, share experiences, and get away from the daily stress. Pam opened a small shop in mid-town in August of 2017, but quickly outgrew the space. She relocated to Lakeside Court in July of 2018; a great location with plenty of room and parking!!
Pam’s primary focus is always the satisfaction of her customers. She loves to help knitters learn the basic skills and go on to successfully create their own projects.
Come and be part of our community!!

Meet the Team
Susan Boyd, our Customer Service Manager, retired from her corporate career and joined Yarn Refuge 2 years ago. She says she has her dream job at Yarn Refuge where she can combine her love of knitting with her love of making every customer’s experience a great one!

Terry king, Yarn Refuge Instructor and staff member, has been a key part of the local fiber arts industry for over 40 years. She can help with any project, and also offers a fun array of different classes for all skill levels! She is a valued member of the team!!

You can find Sue-Ting at Yarn Refuge knitting, crocheting or helping others knit or crochet! She usually has too many projects on the needles (and in bags all over the car and in her house), but is never too busy to help you with your project.

Tony has been knitting and crocheting for over 40 years. He is a certified Master Knitter and Master Crocheter and taught classes at Michael’s for 7 years. He is now happily knitting and teaching at Yarn Refuge.

Testimonials
Yarn Refuge has unique yarns I can’t find in other stores. The staff is knowledgeable about their products, and what patterns will and won’t work with the yarn. They work within your budget, and offer lay away service, which is wonderful! The knitting atmosphere is comfy and inviting for all.
