Class Cost: $35.00 per 2-hour session

Skill Level: Beginner and up

Class Description: Learn or advance your skills in brioche stitches! Beginners will start with a simple 2 color brioche scarf while those who have already learned the technique can begin a hat or other more advanced project! All classes will be for all levels and projects. Brioche is a stitch technique that creates a lofty, plush, light weight, double sided fabric. When two colors are used, each side is the reverse color from the other making it completely reversible.

Material Needed:Materials for beginner scarf:

  • 1 – 24” circular needle up to two sizes smaller than the size recommended for your chosen yarn.
  • 2 – contrasting yarns, approximately 200 yards of EACH color for a short scarf, more for a longer one. You may use any weight but keep in mind that you will be using a much smaller needle than normal. I suggest using worsted, heavy worsted or bulky and to choose a lofty or sticky yarn. Heavy yarns and those with a lot of drape will not give good results.
  • 1 – Locking stitch marker
  • Note paper and pen or pencil
  • Optional: handi tool or crochet hook.

Materials for Liguria Hat by Katrin Schubert:

  • Medium to high energy DK weight yarn in two colors. Total yardage needed will be 202 – 235 yds.
  • UD #4 (3.5 mm) 16” circular and dpn or size to obtain gauge
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle

Pattern: Liguria Hat by Katrin Schubert or Scarf Pattern provided in cost of the class.
