Beginning Crochet August 2022

In the first two classes you will learn how to tension the yarn and begin to create the basic crochet stitches – chain, single crochet, half double crochet, & double crochet. In the final two classes you will begin to make a hat, honing your new skill! You will have a choice of either a beanie or or slouchy hat. Additionally, you will begin to learn how to read a written crochet pattern.

Materials Included: No materials included
Requirements: Practice yarn for the best learning results you will need: Worsted weight (#4) regular wool in a light to medium color. Pointed, wooden crochet hook in any size from G to I (4mm - 5.5mm). (Acrylic and cotton yarns are not recommended because they tend to be harder for beginners to manage. If you have an allergy to wool acrylic will work. Metal hooks will work but tend to also be a little harder for beginners as well.)
Instructor: Terry King
Instructor Bio: Terry has over 45 years of fiber arts experience and has been teaching knitting & crochet in the local Reno area for over 12 years. Her teaching style is inclusive. Her philosophy is that you will learn best working with your own natural inclinations and abilities. She can teach both left & right handed.
