Beginning Knitting Classes for Children Session 1

3 - 1 hour lessons

Class Objective:

 Produce a single knit wearable item, i.e.: wristlet, cowl, a pair of fingerless mittens

Skills/techniques to be covered:

Cast on [knitted cast-on, backwards loop]

Knit stitch

Purl stitch

Cast off

Whip stitch

Due to the variability of students’ ages, developmental stage and hand-eye coordination, students will be expected to progress within their ability. Individual attention will be provided at the level needed.



Yarn: 1 ball of Worsted weight yarn [light color recommended]

Needles: 9 inch US size 8
