Beginning Magic Loop

Magic loop is such an handy circular knitting technique that all knitter's should learn it. Once you get the hang of it you will not be restricted to knitting with a specific length of cord and you can say bye bye to double pointed needles!

In this class you will learn the basics of the Magic Loop technique of knitting small diameter projects on one long circular needle.

We will cast on for a single top down sock. I suggest worsted weight unless you are already comfortable with fingering weight yarn.

If you already know how to knit one sock on magic loop and want to learn two-at-a-time on magic loop you may also join this class or wait for the the next class.

Materials:

  • Yarn: either worsted weight or fingering weight superwash yarn (if you wish to just practice the technique then any weight up to worsted is fine.)
  • Needle: 32" or 40" circular needle in the size suitable for your weight of yarn.
  • Notions: Locking stitch markers

Requirements: You must know how to cast on, knit, purl, join in the round, and knit in the round.
