Cocoknits Method Week 1 - Planning & Swatching

Suitable for adventurous beginners with a few projects under their belts to expert knitters.
These classes will be offered a la carte so if you only need help with certain techniques, you may take just the classes you need.
You may also “pre-purchase” 4 or all 8 classes by purchasing gift cards for either $130 (for a $10 discount on 4 classes) or $260 (for a $20 discount on 8 classes). All students will also be automatically signed up for the KAL once a purchase is made.
To participate in the KAL through Yarn Refuge simply purchase one Cocoknits tool from us and let us know you will be joining in. In turn, we will give you a coupon code for the purchase of one free Cocoknits pattern through Ravelry. The patterns from the book are not available for purchase with the code but you may use it for a pattern to knit in the future. Code will be valid for 6 months.
Week 1
-Purchase yarn and gather tools.
-Read over pattern to familiarize yourself with steps to come.
-Read pages 39-48 and 106-109 of the Cocoknits Sweater Workshop to get inspired about color and shaping customizations – this section may help you choose your pattern!
-Make a swatch and wet block.
-From here on out, start sharing your project on Instagram, Facebook, and/or Ravelry. Use the hashtag #Everlastingkal so we can find your project.
In class we will discuss the reading, address each participants questions and concerns, and how to knit a gauge swatch properly, and how to adjust sizing to accommodate a different gauge than what is stated in the pattern.
Then if you have not yet chosen a yarn we can help you decide from what is available in the shop.
