Cocoknits Method Week 2 - Pattern Section 1

Suitable for adventurous beginners with a few projects under their belts to expert knitters.

These classes will be offered a la carte so if you only need help with certain techniques, you may take just the classes you need.

You may also “pre-purchase” 4 or all 8 classes by purchasing gift cards for either $130 (for a $10 discount on 4 classes) or $260 (for a $20 discount on 8 classes). All students will also be automatically signed up for the KAL once a purchase is made.

To participate in the KAL through Yarn Refuge simply purchase one Cocoknits tool from us and let us know you will be joining in. In turn, we will give you a coupon code for the purchase of one free Cocoknits pattern through Ravelry. The patterns from the book are not available for purchase with the code but you may use it for a pattern to knit in the future. Code will be valid for 6 months.

Week 2

-Begin section 1 of pattern. -Read page 19 for bonus tips about working Upper Back.
-Read pages 18-27 to get a visual and written overview of what these sections look like and what you'll be doing next!

In this class we will work through the Upper Back sections 1-3. You will learn how to do the KLL, KRL, PLL, & PRL increases and Julie's method for pickup up stitches. Helpful handouts will be given out. We will watch some videos of these techniques.

If you pattern has a collar then you will learn Judy's Magic Cast on as a provisional cast on. It really is the best way to knit seamlessly in two directions from the same cast on.

You will also learn how to use Modified Magic Loop so all your work can stay on one long circular needle, saving time and confusion.

Materials for this week:

-6 Cocoknits Colorful Stitch Markers
-Stitch Stoppers
-If you don’t use Modified Magic Loop around corners you’ll need the Leather Cord and Needle Stitch Holder Kit or spare yarn to hold stitches.
