Class Description: In this class we will go over the structure of how patterns are written, what standard abbreviations mean, typical phrases and what they really mean, the sequence of instructions, the importance of extra notes and some of the confusions they can cause. We will also take a look at the 3 types of knitting charts, what some of the standard symbols are, how to use the chart legend, and how to read charts.
What skills you should have: A basic understanding of how knit and purl stitches are created.
What skills you will learn: The basics of how to read patterns, standard abbreviations, knitting language, the structure of how patterns are written, the three types of knitting charts, how to read charts, standard chart symbols and how to use the legend.
