Class Description: NEW Advanced Techniques classes for more experienced knitters. This one hour class will feature techniques that will increase your skills. This first series will be knitting Celtic Cables. Terry particularly loves Lucy Hague’s unique work so will be featuring her patterns. We will start with this cowl and move on to Illuminated Celtic Cables in future series if there is interest.

Material Needed:

Pattern: Woodwrae Cowl by Lucy Hague

  • 2.75 mm/US size 2 – 24˝ long (or size needed to obtain gauge)
  • 380 yds Sportweight or light DK weight yarn that will give good stitch definition. Suggested yarns: solids to nearly solids of the following would be best: Malabrigo Arroyo, Brew City DK weight, Hedgehog DK weight, or Arkaik Fibre DK.

  • Cable needle

  • 1 stitch marker

  • Waste yarn


Skills you should have: You should know how to work standard cables.

Skills you will learn: With this project you can learn provisional cast on, how to work Celtic cables, and i-cord bindoff.

Homework: Please have some of your yarn wound (if needed) before class.
