April 6th – Brioche Workshop – Beginning Scarf or Cowl

Class Name: Brioche Workshop – Beginning Scarf or Cowl

Class Date: Saturday April 6th

Class Hours: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Instructor: Terry King

Class Cost: $35.00

Skill Level: Experienced beginner and up

Class Description: Learn the brioche stitch by knitting your choice of a single colored cowl in the round OR a 2 colored scarf. In this workshop you will learn the basics of how to work brioche with one of these two patterns designed exclusively for learning. The patterns are written in a tutorial format, leading step by step through the process.

Material Needed:

Patterns are provided

For Brioche scarf

  • 2 – contrasting yarns, approximately 200 yards of EACH color for a short scarf, more for a longer one. You may use any weight, I suggest using worsted, heavy worsted or bulky and to choose a lofty or sticky yarn. Heavy yarns and those with a lot of drape will not give good results.
  • 3 – stitch markers. 1 must be a locking stitch marker.
  • Note paper and pen or pencil
  • Optional: handi tool or crochet hook.

For Simple Cowl

  • 1 ball Berroco Aero
  • US #13 – 24″ circular
  • US #11 (for casting on)
  • 1 stitch marker

Skills you should have: Experienced beginner and up

Skills you will learn: How to create the brioche stitch in 1 color then in 2 colors OR how to knit brioche in the round.

Homework: Purchase all materials needed BEFORE the day of class and have yarn wound if needed.
