Class Name: Make a Mosaic Cowl – Soft Shifts by Tabetha Hedrick

Class Date: Wednesday, February 27 and March 27
Class Hours: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Class Cost: $60 for two 2-hr classes

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and up

Class Description: Knit a marvelous cowl with colors that really pop! Mosaic knitting uses slipped stitches and two or more colors overall, but only one color per row, creating a squishy fabric and an eye catching design.

Materials Needed: 

200 yards each in two contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn

Size 8 US / 5 mm circular needle, 24” / 60 cm long
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Stitch marker, yarn needle

Pattern: Soft Shifts by Tabetha Hedrick


22 sts and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Shift pattern, after blocking.


Finished Measurements:

Width: 8” / 20 cm
Circumference (seamed): 39” / 99 cm

Skills you should have: knit, purl, slip stitch, seam together

Skills you will learn: mosaic, read color chart, pick up and knit

Homework: Please purchase materials and have at both skeins of yarn wound before class.

Yarn Recommendations: SweetGeorgia Yarns Superwash Worsted, Anzula For Better or Worsted, Urth Uneek Worsted. You’ll want either two solids, or one solid and one tonal or variegated.
