February 28th Learn to Knit with your Other Hand (Continental vs English)


Class Name: Learn to Knit with your Other Hand (Continental vs English)

Class Date: Thursday February 28th

Class Hours: 1:00-3:00pm

Instructor: Terry King

Class Cost: $35

Skill Level: Intermediate and up

Class Description: If you knit English style (throwing with your right hand) or if you knit Continental style (picking with the yarn held in your left hand) then learn how to do the other style! Being able to knit with either hand or even both at the same time comes in very handy for doing work that requires holding more than one strand of yarn, such as double knitting and fair isle. It is also very helpful should your dominant hand need a rest or is injured.

Note: This is NOT a beginning knitting class.

Material Needed:

  • Light colored yarn in worsted or aran weight
  • Circular or straight needles sized for your yarn.

Pattern: none

Skills you should have: You should be proficient in knitting with your dominant hand and have a working understanding on how knit and purl stitches are constructed

Skills you will learn: How to knit and if time how to purl with your non-dominant hand.
