Class Name: Choosing the Right Yarn for Your Project

Class Date: Thursday January 31st

Class Hours: 1:00 – 3:00pm

Instructor: Terry King

Class Cost: $35 per 2 hour session

Skill Level: Experienced Beginner and up

Class Description: Learn how to choose suitable yarn for your project from the choices available in your local yarn shop. This class will give you an overview of yarn weights and gauge. We will discuss fibers and how the various fibers generally behave. We will also touch on other aspects one needs to consider when substituting yarns such as drape, twist, plies, and loft.

Material Needed: Please bring notebook and pen or pencil. A sample pattern to substitute yarn for practice. You may also bring a yarn that you would like to consider for a project to practice choosing appropriate patterns.

A laptop, tablet, or smartphone for accessing Ravelry would be helpful but not necessary.
