May 11th, 18th, & 25th – Beginning Knitting Series 101-103

Class Name: New Beginning Knitting Series 101-103

Class Dates: Saturdays May 11th, 18th, & 25th

Class Hours: 1:00pm-3:00pm

Instructor: Terry King

Class Cost: $100

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Description: This three part – 6 hour class will launch you upon your knitting journey! We will begin with a basic cast on and lead you, step by step, through learning the knit & purl stitches and how to alternate between them. Then in 103 you will begin your very first scarf with a written pattern!

Terry works with each student’s unique abilities to find a way to create the correct stitches with a technique that works for the individual, instead of trying to fit the student into a “standardized technique.” She firmly believes that there is no right or wrong way to knit as long as the stitches do what they are supposed to do and won’t cause future difficulties. She is able to teach both right and left handed students.

Knitting 101 – You will learn step by step how to cast stitches onto your needle and how to make a knit stitch creating a practice swatch.

Knitting 102 – You will continue working on your practice swatch and learn how to make a purl stitch, alternate knit and purl stitches in both rows and within rows. How to bind off will also be included.

Knitting 103 – You will get started on your first scarf project working from a written pattern that incorporates all that you have learned so far. Pattern is included.
