October 20th – Simple Garments – Seamless Pullovers Part 1

$35.00

Class Name: Simple Garments – Seamless Pullovers Part 1

Class Date: Saturday October 20th

Class Hours: 10:00 – 12:00pm

Instructor: Terry King

Class Cost: $35.00 per 2 hr session or $100 when you pay for all 3 in advance

Skill Level: Beginner and up

Class Description: The class will be 3 sessions, two weeks apart so there will be plenty of time to make progress between classes. You will be able to choose between three different patterns to suit your taste. The patterns will be the drop shoulder The Weekender by Andrea Mowry, the circular Fair Isle yoke Humulus by Isabell Kraemer, or the basic top down raglan crew neck Brick by Clara Lee. All three sweaters are worsted weight and call for Brooklyn Tweed Shelter so this is a great opportunity to try this fabulous yarn completely sourced and created here in the USA!

Suggestions:

The Weekender by Andrea Mowry – Andrea says “I combined my favorite attributes – texture, faux seams, drop shoulder, and some positive ease to create this versatile, flattering sweater! No matter your body type, it is perfect for wearing to the office or out on your weekend hike in the woods. I’ve already knit a second version, leaving off the sleeves so I can wear it in warmer weather or layered over a long sleeve tee!

Humulus by Isabell Kraemer – “Humulus (the botanical name for hops) is a lovely sweater that celebrates the elegant hop flower, its flavours and its decorative qualities. The plant is described variously as zesty, piney, earthy and floral. This sweater encompasses all of these with its delicate colourwork pattern knitted in a warm and slightly rustic yarn. It is like being wrapped in a hug

Humulus is worked seamlessly from the top down. First some Short Rows are worked back and forth to create a higher back neck and then the round- yoke is worked top down to sleeve separation. Some last short-rows are worked to finish the yoke shaping right before
sleeve stitches are placed on hold, then the body is worked in rounds down to the hem. Sleeves are worked top down to the cuffs last.”

Brick by Clare Lee – “Brick is a simple, basic pullover perfect as your everyday sweater. It has a top-down raglan construction, which allows you to try on as you go to check your fit.”

Class will start Saturday October 29th at 10pm and run every other Saturday for a total of three – 2 hr classes.

There will be encores of each class on the following Friday evening beginning Friday September 14th at 6pm if Saturdays don’t work for you.
